Summer MinistrySummer Ministry Summer With College Central... We're glad that you are back in the Lou for the summer and we hope you'll join us for what promises to be an awesome season of ministry and fun. The transition from college back to home isn't the easiest, but we've got some great stuff planned to help make this a memorable and meaningful summer. Keep reading below or see the calendar for some ways you can get involved...
Summer Kick-off BBQ (& Game Night) To kick off the summer right, Marc and Megan Hunsaker will be hosting the College Central Summer Kick-off BBQ on Sunday, May 31st at 7pm. This is our first college ministry event of the summer and should be a great time of playing games, grillin’ out and catching up with old friends. All college age students and graduating high school seniors are invited to stop on by. *Here is a map to their new home (7535 Weil Ave, 63119) 9:45 - College Discussion 11:15 - "New" Worship Service Central has three services available on Sunday AM (8:30, 9:45, 11:15), but this summer the 11:15 service is getting "tweaked". The pastors at Central want to offer a Sunday morning worship service that is more casual and contextualized for a younger congregation. All this means is- you don't have to dress up and you will probably be familiar with most of the music. College Central is encouraging all college students to check out the 11:15 service together and offer ongoing feedback on the worship changes. At 7pm during the months of June and July, The Hunsakers will be hosting several Bible discussion small groups led by our College Central Staff. This summer we will be studying the book of John, one of the most beloved books of the Bible. If you are just curious about the Christian faith, or want to grow deeper in your understanding of the Gospel, we invite you to join us as we examine the life-changing good news of Jesus. *For a map to their new home (7535 Weil Ave, 63119) click here At 7pm every Tuesday night in June and July, College Central will join with other reformed St Louis campus ministries and churches to host a Summer RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) large group meeting. Come out to The Edwards House at Covenant Presbyterian church and join us for what is sure to be a great time of college fellowship, worship and teaching. Check out the Summer RUF blog for more info and clickhere for a map Open Swim - Weds Night Fellowship We believe that God has made us for community, and we take that to heart. On Weds nights in June and July, we have set aside time to hang out in a variety of venues (Cardinals games, camping, concerts, etc) so that we can form stronger bonds and great memories. Its Open Swim and you're invited! July 1 - Service Opportunity with Refuge of Nations: We will meet at Central Christian School at 6, and then head down to South City where we will share a meal with St. Louis refugees, and then play with refugee children so that their parents can attend a Bible Study. If you can't be there at 6 but would still like to help, you can meet us at Redeemer Evangelical Church in South City July 4 - Fair St Louis: We're joining the throng gathered at the Arch to enjoy a free concert, kick back and watch the sky light up with fireworks. We'll meet at the Central parking garage at 6pm and ride down together. July 8 - Bowling for Custard July 15 - Jazz in the Park July 22 - Harry Potter July 29 - Game Night @ the Hunsaker's
