Below is more information about our current volunteers:

Nathan Markley

Nathan and his wife, Laura, moved to St Louis just over a year ago so he could attend Covenant Seminary to pursue his Masters of Divinity.  He's fought off bears in Alaska, been tear-gassed in Chile, and roamed the halls of Dracula's castle in Romania; but all that makes him sound more exciting and dangerous than he really is.  He's just a regular guy from Lawrence, Kansas.  He cuts (not twirls) his spaghetti, often sings nonsense lyrics, and is a big board game nerd.  He loves to hike mountains, watch theater productions, go camping, and have long chats over coffee.  But overall, what lights him up like a Rockefeller Christmas tree is helping people more deeply know Jesus, each other, and themselves.  He's still learning all that himself.

John Sell

John is from Greenville, SC where he graduated high school in 2003.  He then attended Erskine College where he ran cross country and majored in Social Studies and Philosophy with plans to teach high school (which never panned out).  After graduation, he married Ashley and they both took jobs at Erskine.  John coached the Erskine cross country teams for three years before moving to St. Louis to attend Covenant Seminary to pursue his Masters of Divinity.  He enjoys running, cooking, hiking, camping, and about any sport as well as listening to anything from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jack Johnson, U2, CCR, to 50¢ (where has he been by the way?).  He and Ashley have no children, but do have 4 or 5 living plants (including a rosemary bush that won't die) and a dog named Roxy who is 1/3 border collie, 1/3 terrier, and 1/3 awesome.

Rebekah Sasse
Rebekah was born and raised in St. Louis. She went to the University of Missouri-Columbia where she graduated with a Bachelor's of Journalism in 2009. It was a study abroad experience in Belgium that caused her to develop a love for traveling, and she hasn’t been able to sit still since! Greece is next on the list. She comes from a musical family and plays the violin and piano.  During the day, she works as a business proposal writer for a local pharmacy company, though she dreams of being a foreign correspondent for a magazine someday. She is a diehard Cardinals baseball fan and had the insane privilege of being at Game 6 of the 2011 World Series – it’s the highlight of her life thus far! Mainly, she loves people and learning their stories. She can’t wait to get to know you!
